929 Music Project Acknowledgments
I would like to thank the following persons. Not only are they great musicians, they are also dear friends .
Mark Drummond for his genius on the guitar and arrangement on 929.
Ron Abernethy for ‘feeling’ It and adding his keyboard wizardry to the mix.
Mike Potter for his ‘in your face’ saxophone solos the made you feel the heavy handed ness I was trying to convey.
Elio Spinello for his conga and chime work. His production expertise was invaluable to the project. He dove right in and knew what I was going for. Elio also developed the video and 929MusicProject.com website. Elio was also my ‘handler,’ in that my failing vision makes it difficult to view my computer screen. Thank you Elio for going above and beyond.
Special shout out to my daughter Jennifer K. Spencer for listening to her Dad’s music and providing living critique. Hearing her say “I’m proud of you Dad” was special.
I would also like to thank Julie Potter, Marie Spinello, John Thomas, Marjorie Mitchell, Julie Allen, Griff Hamlin, Mark Dyson, John & Corinne Hurley, Alan & Beverly Goldstein, and John Witkowski for listening to endless retakes and offering constructive feedback and reaction.
Julie Bowman was also my ‘boots in the ground’ in Minneapolis. She gave me photos, contacts, and conveyed the mood of the city.
JoAnne Cornwell, John Byrd, and Celeste Geary for their soulful back up vocals. John was on point with his Spoken Word delivery.
Lastly I’d like to thank my wife Juanita Celis Clendenin who listened to me for over a year, talking, singing, and playing remakes of 929.
Gracias mi Amor
